Account Information

• Encrypted password

Wine Activity Data

• Wine preferences and interactions, including saved wines, tried wines, ratings, and tasting notes.

Usage and Security Data

• IP address and request logs for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, and service reliability.

Scan Data

If the bottle scanning feature is used, images of wine labels are processed in memory and are not permanently stored on Corkey servers.

However, scan images may be securely transmitted to third-party AI services (such as Google Gemini API) for the purpose of extracting wine information. These images are not retained by Corkey after processing.

Third-party providers may process data according to their own terms and privacy policies. Corkey does not control retention practices of third-party services.

Device Information

Basic device information may be collected, such as device type, operating system version, and app version, to improve performance and stability.

How We Use Information

Information is used to:

• Provide personalized AI-based wine recommendations
• Maintain and sync your personal wine cellar
• Improve the Corkey app and respond to user feedback
• Monitor stability and protect the service from abuse

Third-Party Services

Corkey may use third-party services for:

• Google Gemini API: For natural language understanding and AI-based wine recommendations.
• Cloudflare: For infrastructure performance, network reliability, and security.
• Cloud hosting providers: For secure application hosting and database management.

We do not sell personal data.

We may share limited data with third-party service providers (such as AI processing and hosting services) only as necessary to operate Corkey and provide its core functionality.

Security

All data is transmitted securely using HTTPS encryption. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information.

Permissions

Camera permission is used only when you choose to scan a wine label. If camera permission is denied, you can continue using other core features such as recommendations and cellar management.

Data Retention and Storage

User data is stored until the user deletes their account or requests deletion.

Data may be stored or processed in Canada or other regions where our cloud infrastructure providers operate.

Account Deletion and Requests

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time:

Data Deletion Procedure

When an account deletion request is processed, related personal data and wine history are permanently removed from our production database. After deletion is completed, data cannot be recovered.

Children's Privacy

Corkey is intended for users of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the legal drinking age.
